Study in Germany

Germany boasts some of the most fascinating history and culture the world has ever seen. Humans have been living in Germany for at least 600,000 years. The world's oldest hunting weapons, oldest musical instruments, and the oldest figurative pieces of art were all discovered in what now makes up Germany. From Neanderthals to the Germanic Tribes, Germans have been leaving their mark on the world from the very beginning.

Still to this day, Germany continues to leave its mark on the world. Ever heard of Beethoven, Einstein, or the Brothers Grimm? Ever worn jeans, used a computer, or taken aspirin? All of these people and things came from Germany! Germany now ranks as the world's fourth largest economy, the world's third largest importer and exporter of goods, and the world's leader in the FIFA soccer world rankings. Germany was also a founding member of the European Union and is a part of the Schengen Area.

As much as Germany has contributed to the world's culture, Germany has also played a significant role in the world's history. Germany has been the home to some of the world's most famous rulers, and unfortunately, some of the world's most famous wars too. Due to the high number of rulers and wars in Germany's past, Germany has become the most populous country in the European Union and has one of the most diverse populations in the world.

From it's cultural contributions and its role in the world's history, Germany is the ideal study abroad destination for any student looking to experience Europe to its fullest.

Visas

All students are required to have a passport. The demand for passports tends to be heaviest between January and August. However, backups and delays can occur at any time of the year due to various reasons and even for expedited service, so be sure to apply as early as possible- several months in advance.

If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will need to check with your local embassy or consulate to verify entry requirements for Germany. Please check with ISA if you are unsure about any visa/document requirements.
